My order went odd on gamestop.com's side, as they changed product info and order was ordered but not ordered, so to speak. Got email from them cancelling the order, so I reordered again and this time I hope it works this time. More info as it happens.

Did you order that from Gamestop.com?
I emailed them about my pre-order package for my CE and got this....

Factions Pre-Order Clarification Request
I just want to make sure I have the facts straight. As I understand it since I already own two copies of Guild Wars: Prophecies there is absolutely no reason for me to get the pre-order before the next weekend event, March 24th. There is a reason for me to get the pre-order before the April 28th release date for the 24 hour early access. Please correct me if I misunderstand the facts.

Yeah I believe so, that's what it mentioned if you pre-order.

If you look at your ingame CD keys page (Edit Keys etc.) you'll see you've already been granted access to the beta/preview. Therefore no, you don't need to have Factions in any way shape or form, if you already own Prophecies, to enter that event.

This should answer a few questions,

There may be other limited sources for access keys, but there are no other sources at present. To clarify: The Factions Preview Event is not an "open event," that anyone can attend.
Secondly, in order to get into the Factions Pre-order Head Start, you must have the pre-order package or the online pre-order. Cantha will be available only to those who preorder the game, and only to those who have a special preorder access key. That is why I am encouraging everyone to do his or her best to get the pre-order package or to do the formal online pre-order, if you are in Europe. Only with an access key will you get into the FPHS.
There is, unfortunately, no way for us to offer a "grace period," if your game arrives late or if you cannot find it locally. The FPHS will end at 11:59 PST on the 28th. We cannot extend the Head Start for any period of time to accommodate situations like this because it would take someone reading and assessing each request and then setting each one individually to that grace period. This could be abused, as well, with someone asking for a grace period just to get a little more free time, sort of like asking the teacher for an extra day on the history assignment because the dog ate his homework

Thought I would pass on this information.

Best Buy preorder question
This is a question for people that preordered from BB or know how it works.
This is my first time preordering from BB, for anything, and it seems like it works differently than Gamestop. I asked the cashier some questions but he didn't seem to sure about it.
I bought the preorder box and got the reciept. I want to get the CE and they don't ask if you want to preorder that or not. So, when the game comes out do I just go and get the CE off the shelf and then show the cashier the preorder reciept? Thanks in advance.

Yes, that is what I did at BB for Prophecies. This year, however, I'm going to try to pre-order the CE (if BB ever lets me) so I can make sure I get one. I have a feeling Factions CE will fly off the shelves faster than Prophecies CE...
BB isn't going to ask if you want to pre-order the SE or CE after purchasing the Pre-Order Kit because it's not a bundled deal (for BB, anyhow).

That sucks. Thanks for the info. I hope they'll have some left after I get out of school that day.

I ordered 2 copies for my household with no problem using the same account, same payment method, same everything. I just did it in two separate orders. According to tracking info, they should be waiting for me when I get home tonight. (They shipped with two separate tracking numbers of course.)

I just got my pre-order disc from Amazon today. For $1.
It comes in a plastic box like a DVD case, with a disc and assorted papers which I'll detail for everyone's edification. *snort*
1. Access Key Booklet:
a. Pre-order key
b. PVE preview event friend key
c. GW trial key: Try out Prophecies(chap 1) (for 14 days or 10 hours, whichever comes first, my words)
d. Auto Assault access code
2. Factions mini-manual with descriptions of the new classes, some build ideas, a bit of background story, and a list of GW fansites
3. Factions quick reference card (totally a waste of time, in my opinion)
4. NCSoft 2005 Product Catalog (Tabula Rasa looks interesting)

The pre-order box is released on March 31st, and this is when it will be dispatched/be in stores. When you get it, you add the code to your GW 1 account, and 24 hours before the official release, ping, youve got factions

When my BF pre-ordered our copies at Best Buy last year, they didn't honor the pre-order thing like a pre-order, we'll hold your game for you, He just grabbed two of the CE's and paid fo rthem, we ended up paying ten bucks extra for it, but at least we got them, I'm not taking a chance on it this year...

They'll still honor the $10 preorder right? This is going to be the last time I preorder from BB.

Like I said, when he picked up the Pre-order boxes, paid for them each, ten bucks each, they didn't ask abotu the CE or regular or what not, and when he went to pay for them, he asked where he went to get it, the guy just told him to get what he wanted. SO, they didn't honor the 10$ pre-order, we paid ten dollars more for ours due to that, but it was worth it anyway, just really annoying on BB's part.
EDIT: I'm going to Gamestop or EB for my CE preorder, I want to know how well things have gone for people who ordered from both of those before I do. Amazon doesn't have the CE, nor does Best Buy have it listed on their site, so ... I guess it's Gamestop since EB seems to be a horror from all of the posts I've read.
